The Lubbock Fire Department honored four of its own Friday for risking their lives to save an infant. The infant did not survive the fire at the Westwind Apartments back in February.
Investigators blamed space heaters for starting the blaze. Friday the fire department honored Lieutenant Dana Hanna, Brett Assister, Nick Powell and Buster Redwine for their courageous actions. Two citizen awards will go to, Johnny Valdez and Kenny Rogers for their efforts during the fire. However, they have yet to be located.
