I was born in Clinton, OK on September 15, 1961. My parents were from South Texas but working in Oklahoma. On the same date of my birth, Hurricane Carla was hitting much of South Texas, so I was named after her!
I have lived in Lubbock most all of my life. I graduated from Estacado High School in 1980. I worked for the City of Lubbock Communications Department for 7 years and then moved on to Texas Tech Health Sciences Center.
I went to LVN school in 1995 at the age of 34. I worked for Lubbock State School, Presbyterian Center, and Highland Hospital before coming to Grace House earlier this year.
I have 2 daughters, Marisa, my eldest, is a nursing student at TTUHSC School of Nursing. My youngest daughter, Noelle, is a Biology major at Texas Tech and is also thinking of applying at TTUHSC School of Nursing next year.
My hobbies are eating out, going to the movies, dancing, and going to garage sales. I have always had a love of seniors and especially listening to their stories. My job at Grace House gives me plenty of opportunities to enjoy them!
