A Texas Tech football player is hospitalized after a weekend brawl.
Anthony Hines is in satisfactory condition at a Lubbock hospital. His sister says he was stabbed in the abdomen during a fight at Club Heat around 2 a.m. Saturday morning. Police reports show three calls about rioting but there is no record of a stabbing.
Associated Press reports say Hines's sister Laquisha said her brother had emergency surgery to repair a pierced colon after the fight. She says the sophomore was with other teammates when a fight started. According to the Associated Press, Texas Tech is investigating.
