Here is a complete list of the restaurants and their violations for the week ending on 8/3/06.
First, "Get the door. It's Domino's" at 5407 4th that's a top performer. They cooked up a perfect health inspection.
Now to our only low performer this week.
Casa Ole at 5705 4th St. had five critical violations.
Several products in a walk-in cooler were found to be between 47 and 49 degrees. Cheese was being held at 58 degrees, and shrimp was 31 degrees above the safe temperature of 41 degrees.
An employee's uncovered drink was found in the food prep area.
A cracked egg was found in a walk-in cooler.
The walk-in cooler was not maintaining proper temperature. It was hold between 48 and 49 degrees. It must be able to keep 41 degrees or below. The report states a service man was called out immediately to address the problem.
Food contact surfaces were soiled and damaged, including: chipped dishes, an ice cream scoop stored on an unsanitized surface and a heavily soiled microwave.
Management at Casa Ole says everything was corrected for the following day's inspection. He says, "The day the health inspector came in we were training new managers," but added, "That is not an excuse, because there is no excuse for a lower score. We're continually striving to give 120 percent when it come to quality food service and try to stay on top of things with daily inspections."
