Race at Drag Strip Ends With a Collision - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Speeds up to 100 miles per hour came to a halt when an amateur race car driver crashed into an ambulance Tuesday afternoon.

The woman was racing down the strip at the Lubbock Dragway south of Idalou when she hit an ambulance and then slammed into a parked car. Idalou fire firefighters used the jaws of life to free the woman from the wreckage. Her name has not been released. We do know she was wearing a helmet and is being treated for unknown injuries at University Medical Center.
