A life sentence is sending a message to career criminals.

Thursday, a Lubbock judge sentenced Clarence Boyd to life in prison for stealing $1,300 dollars from Dalton Floors last year.  But it wasn't his first robbery.  Boyd has a history of crime dating back to 1979.
