Funds Granted for STD and Teen Pregnancy Prevention

The Lubbock Health Department hopes to combat sexually transmitted disease and teen pregnancy with a new education grant.

Management Assistant Chris Rogers says, "These grant funds would be utilized to provide education on sexually transmitted diseases and teen pregnancy through general education requests we receive like civic schools, health fairs and  those types of things."

The $107,000 grant comes from the state but must be approved by the Lubbock City Council next week.
