Be Prepared For School Zone Traffic

School and local authorities are asking parents and students to plan ahead. They're asking you to prepare for school-zone traffic on the first day of school.

Lubbock ISD Police Chief Tom Nichols says, "Come Monday morning, traffic patterns all over the city, in fact, all over the South Plains, will change. 30,000 more cars and buses will be on the streets shortly after 7:00 a.m."

School officials suggest you arrive early Monday morning.  They also say that walking or riding bikes to school with your children can help alleviate traffic.  If your child rides, the bus, you can check routes online by clicking here.
