Cotton Outlook Not Promising

The forecast is in and it doesn't look good for cotton producers.

Texas agriculture officials estimate producers will yield 5.2 million bales this year. That's down from the 8.5 million bales harvested last year, according to the US Department of Agriculture.

Drought and hot temperatures across the state continue to wreak havoc on all types of agriculture. As much as 58 percent of all Texas crops are in poor to very poor condition, the latter meaning any harvest is unlikely.
