The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce is asking its members for their opinions about the city tax rate.
Chairman Steve Verett says, "It's the best way we feel like we can be engaged as an organization that represents the business community and that is to get information from our members."
The Lubbock Chamber is sending out a survey to their members asking them for their opinion on the city tax rate and suggestions on where cuts can be made in the budget. Right now, the city is discussing a rate that is slightly lower than the one last year. The first public hearing on the matter begins Thursday morning at 7:30 a.m. It's at Lubbock City Hall.
