After several phone calls and e-mails to both NewsChannel 11 and the City of Lubbock, only three people showed up to Thursday morning's first public hearing on the city tax rate.
Mayor David Miller said, "For all the emails and phone calls we've been getting both pro and con for the tax rate or city services, I would've thought more than three people would've come."
Miller says he was disappointed in the low-turnout but hopes more people come to the next two public hearings. They're set for August 31st and September 13th. Right now, the proposed tax rate is slightly less than the current one.
