"Katrina Cough"

Residents of New Orleans are still complaining of respiratory ailments nearly a year after Hurricane Katrina.

The condition, which many have dubbed "Katrina Cough," started showing up shortly after Hurricane Katrina made landfall. People who live or work near flooded and moldy areas appear to carry the highest risk.

Symptoms include coughing, sneezing, chest congestion and sore throat the American Lung Association is looking into specific triggers of the so-called Katrina cough.
