An update tonight on other E-coli outbreak in spinach which has lead to one death and over 100 illnesses in nineteen states across the country.
The problem was first traced to bag spinach. But now, the FDA says it's not safe to eat fresh spinach either.
Federal officials are still trying to find the source. But they are at least certain that the contamination was not intentional.
"What we're trying to find is the cause, trace to the root cause, so we can find ways to prevent these sorts of outbreaks in the future,"Dr. Patricia Griffin, Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta.
The CDC set up an emergency operations center to test samples. Even though organic products have not been involved, they are on recall also and restaurants are also taking precautions using frozen or canned spinach with some totally pulling it from their menus altogether.
