Today the FDA approved a new flu vaccine bringing the total number of available vaccine to 115 million doses, the most ever offered in the US.
The new vaccine, called Flulavel, is approved for adults and it's designed to block the strain of flu that is circulating this year. This comes at a time when the CDC is concerned that not enough people are getting flu shots.
Two-thirds of elderly adults got a shot last year, but with ninety percent of flu deaths occurring in the elderly experts say this is not enough.
By the way, the CDC recommends getting a flu shot in October or November before the flu virus is in full swing.
