Exercise Can Reduce Breast Cancer

We all know exercise is good for us and breast cancer survivors have probably heard too that regular exercise can reduce the risk of recurrence.

"Over the course of a week, that could be as little as walking three to five hours a week can decrease their breast cancer relapse rate by up to 40 percent," said Dr. Carolyn Kaelin, a Surgeon.

Dr. Kaelin has joined forces with a breast cancer survivor and a fitness trainer to come up with a new book that might help survivors tackle an appropriate fitness program. It's called "The Breast Cancer Survivor's Fitness Plan'. It shows strength exercises which are important for women who have lost bone mass from chemotherapy.

"The Breast Cancer Survivor's Fitness Plan" is available in bookstores and on amazon.com.
