It is not just for small dogs, but maybe for a dog or a cat, that just doesn't have the jumping power it once had when it was younger.
Pebbles, my Chihuahua mix, stands only four inches tall. She has problems jumping on the couch and my bed. She is only 7 months old, so I don't think she will get much bigger. The Doggy Steps might come in handy for her.
"No more jumping, no more straining," it says on the box. It is made for older dogs and short dogs. The product was only 20 bucks, but Does It Work?
When I am laying on my bed, Pebbles scratches at my leg and at the bed sheet. I am afraid if she keeps doing that, she will hurt me badly or tear up my bedding. I don't want either one of those to happen.
The Doggie Steps were easy to assemble. They just snap into place. Then, once you have the frame built you slip the "sheepish" cover over it. The test is not to see if the steps actually work, but if Pebbles will use the steps. I had to pull out my doggie training techniques.
She got the hang of it in no time and ran up the stairs again...again...and again....until she couldn't do it anymore. WAIT!...again! The steps will hold up to 70 pounds and is perfect for short dogs and probably would be helpful to the older dogs too.
You can buy your Doggy steps just about anywhere. I got mine at Bed Bath and Beyond.
