Estacado High School is celebrating an achievement that puts its students among the top 50 schools in the country.
Friday, the "Got Milk" campaign presented Estacado High School with a check for $1,000. Based on its efforts to educate students about good health, Estacado High School has been named one of the 50 healthiest schools in the nation. The school was nominated in an essay by student Shaquita Norris.
"They have to convince us why their school is the healthiest. What Shaquita wrote about in her essay was the healthy food options they have in the cafeteria encourage their students to drink three servings of milk and really encourage them to be active," said Wendy Ma of the "Got Milk" campaign.
Friday's celebration also included a performance by pop star Britney Christian.
