This Christmas is going to be a little brighter than last year for me. Why? Because it appears "Merry Christmas" is back.
That's right, big retailers like Wal-Mart have seen the error of their crazed, politically correct ways and reverted back to acknowledging the phrase Merry Christmas. Not Happy Holidays -- Merry Christmas. And Wal-Mart is not alone. Recent news reports show "Merry Christmas" is back on the scene at K-Mart, Kohl's, Target, and Walgreens.
A recent national poll showed 95% of shoppers were not offended by the phrase Merry Christmas. Big revelation, right? It is sad that it took a marketing study and threat of a boycott for these places to wake up and realize one fact -- their customers were actually buying Christmas presents.
Here's an idea: how about a rebate from the hypocrites that ignored Christmas last year while making millions on Christmas gifts. So what's my point? Consider this, these over the top, politically correct fads will come and go. Some last, some don't. But the short sightedness of the small, but vocal, minority will not shake the faith and will of the majority. Perhaps we need a marketing study and a boycott to show politicians that the majority of folks due want prayer in school and that we are one nation under God.
But for now here's to the true reason for the season, from my family to yours, Merry Christmas!
