A brain aneurysm is a dangerous condition, identified as a weakened bulge in a brain artery.
Surgery or less invasive coiled metal fillers can treat that. But, a new type of aneurysm filler is currently in clinical trial in South America, and this may offer a new way to stabilize the condition.
Neurovasx has developed a string-like filler made from bio-compatible polymer. The strand is injected through a catheter system right into the aneurysm, packing the bulge with the string. The bio compatible string then encourages healing by sealing off the aneurysm, and restoring blood flow.
