Since mid January is the time when most people start losing interest in their New Year's resolutions last week, we launched an effort here at NewsChannel 11 called "Let's lose it Lubbock" and we invited several community leaders to joins us in this Weight Watchers challenge.
Weight Watchers Week 2: The good news is no one has dropped out our group of 25 took turns again weighing in and it wasn't just the folks from NewsChannel 11 stripping off jackets and tossing shoes to lighten up. Our mission this week is to learn about products that can help us cheat the smart way and to applaud those who have lost a lot already in this first week off the starting block.
Our best loser so far, Chris Albers, a daybreak producer six pounds gone, but he was humble about it.
"I lost six pounds by accident. Don't know what I did," said Chris Albers.
Accidental weight loss you could tell Mrs. Hankins is a little skeptical when someone says it was an accident, but that perked up Kevin Overstreet who works best in the midst of an accident and Eddie McBride from the Chamber well, he was just happy to be here.
In all, our group lost 60.4 pounds accident or not. The real test will come next week. When we weigh in with a plate of food in front of us. We will dine next week together.
