Defibrillators Bill Introduced In Texas Senate

In Austin Tuesday, Senate Bill 7 was introduced, requiring all public schools to have at least one Automated External Defibrillator on campus.

Remember, that's what saved my little 6'6 cousin, Matt Nader, number 70, at Westlake High in Austin this past fall. He collapsed on the field and his heart stopped for three minutes until an AED jolted him back to life.

Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst says if this bill is passed AEDs could save other athletes like Matt, or even teachers and any family members at school activities.

Coincidentally, LISD is getting 22 AEDs this week and certain teachers, coaches and administrators are already getting briefed on how to use them.
