Breath Test To Check For Lung Cancer

Doctors could someday use a breath test to check for lung cancer even in its earliest stages.

Cleveland clinic researchers developed a breath test that uses a chemical color sensor to detect tiny changes in the chemical signature in exhaled air. It's not perfect, but results showed the test was able to pick up cancer in three out of four cases, but that is still a huge advance. Since most lung cancer cases are diagnosed after the disease is advanced.
