Lawmakers to File Legislation To Merge Angelo State With Texas Tech

Angelo State University could be one step closer to becoming a part of Texas Tech.

Friday afternoon, Senator Robert Duncan of Lubbock and State Representative Drew Darby of San Angelo, will announce their filing of legislation that would merge Angelo State University with Texas Tech.

Last month, Darby announced he was working on a bill to make the university a part of Tech. Texas Tech Chancellor Kent Hance tells NewsChannel 11 he's not for or against the merger but would welcome Angelo State should the merger happen.
