Exercise To Prolong Life

New evidence that even a little exercise could help improve the quality of life for seniors even those in nursing homes. Exercise can include walking, strength, balance and flexibility training.

In a study of more than a thousand seniors at various retirement communities with an average age of 80, the researchers at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago found again and again that for each additional hour of exercise every week, the risk of becoming disabled during the next several years fell by seven percent and the risk of dying dropped even more,  11 percent.
