A Different Kind Of Air Pollution

A different kind of air pollution, secondhand smoke, could increase a person's risk of dementia.

Researchers at the University of California-Berkeley studied nearly 500 people over age 65 who had no dementia and had never smoked. Even though they were non-smokers, those who had been exposed to secondhand smoke for more than 30 years were about 30 percent more likely to develop dementia.
