Update on Possible TTUHSC Candidate Wayne Isom

In light of information that Dr. Wayne Isom is a candidate for the position of president of the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, that celebrity surgeon tells NewsChannel 11, "that's news to me."

We were the first to tell you yesterday after hearing from a very reliable source that the same heart doctor who operated on David Letterman and Regis Philbin was a candidate for the HSC's top spot.

In a phone interview with Dr. Isom Thursday, he told Karin McCay that he is a member of the search committee and has not been approached about this. But he added that he tries to go to a few Texas Tech sporting events every year since he grew up in Idalou.
