Family of Injured Slaton Teen Seeks Blood Donations

The family of a critically injured teen is seeking blood donations.

Stacy Ramirez, age 12, was thrown from the bed of a pickup truck in Slaton on Tuesday. Her family tells NewsChannel 11 that she underwent surgery to her spine on Friday, and another surgery is scheduled for Sunday. They ask people to donate blood, and request that it benefit "Stacy Ramirez," a patient in the Intensive Care Unit at Covenant Medical Center.

There is also a fund in place to help her family pay for medical expenses. Donations can be made to any branch of Citizen's Bank.
