"Under God" Could Be Added to Texas Pledge

The words "under God" would be added to the Texas Pledge of Allegiance under a bill approved by the state House.

On Thursday, the House agreed with changes the Senate made to the bill. The measure now goes to Governor Rick Perry.

With the new version, the Texas pledge would be: "Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible."

Thousands of Texas school children recite the pledge every day as required by a previous state law.
