Shooting Saturday Morning Turned Deadly

Charles Alvin Thomas, 36, was shot in the head multiple times early Saturday morning. He died last night. Now the three men involved in the shooting will face murder charges.

According to police, Thomas was shot around 3:15 a.m. Saturday, outside a home in the 1800 block of East First Place. After the shooting a witness reported seeing three men leave the scene in a gold Mercury Marquis.

An officer spotted the car in the 4900 block of Indiana Avenue. Inside that car, officers found one or more of the guns that were used in the shooting and arrested the three men inside the car.

Thomas was taken to University Medical Center where he died sometime last night.

Police arrested 19-year-olds Jason Wadley and Terrance Mcbrewer and 20-year-old Marshone Sheppard. All three are charged with organized crime and aggravated assault in connection with the shooting. Police say they will now be charged with murder.

The three young men are being held at the Lubbock County Jail on $1 million bonds.
