This teacher is helping her students go down in history, and they're learning life long lessons along the way. NewsChannel 11's Nicole Pesecky takes us into Lubbock High School to honor a much appreciated journalism teacher, Pam Breuer, in this school year's final edition of teacher you can count on.
For the past 25 years Pam Breuer has had one main passion: teaching. And for the past 15 years Breuer has used that passion to leave behind a legacy.
As another school year comes to an end, it's time to go back and look into the past. And that's why these students play such a big role. A yearbook staffers says, "It encompasses an entire year of high school and you look back on it and remember it and you have to capture that very carefully." Breuer enjoys seeing the final product, "Kids have been picking up yearbooks and watching them carry them around as prized possessions has been a real neat thing to see."
2,400 faces will grace the pages of this year's masterpiece. And this teacher says it wouldn't be possible if they didn't work together. Part of their teamwork, means meeting deadlines as a team. Breuer explains, "There's a tax deadline and you'll have to deal with in life so you have to learn how to deal with deadlines no matter where you're going in life."
And for these students meeting those deadlines mean other students will be able to remember their high school years for many years to come.
