Glenna Goodacre Scheduled for Surgery Wednesday - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Nationally known artist, Glenna Goodacre, continues to make great strides in her recovery.

You may recall the Lubbock native suffered a severe head injury following a mysterious fall at her Santa Fe home back in March. She was initially treated at a hospital in New Mexico, and was later transferred to Craig Hospital in Englewood, Colorado.

According to her husband, Mike Schmidt, Goodacre has made significant progress in her recovery, when it comes to speech and movement. However, her medical team believes that a shunt will help speed things along by relieving an accumulation of fluid on the brain.

The surgical procedure is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. NewsChannel 11 will continue to keep you posted on her progress.
