Todd Klein's job as the Lubbock City Council representative for District 3 will officially begin Thursday.
Klein was named the new District 3 representative last night, with only 94 votes separating him from his opponent Kevin Glasheen.
Unofficial election results show Todd Klein won 52% of the vote and received 1,061 total votes.
His opponent Kevin Glasheen received 48% of the vote and 967 total votes.
Klein says he is excited about the opportunity to serve the residents of District 3.
"I'm real excited. I think this is wonderful. I'm looking forward to bringing the city together. This was a team effort to win this election, and it will be a team effort to bring the community together," Klein said.
After being sworn in at City Hall Thursday morning, Klein will immediately take his seat for the city council meeting.
