Watering restrictions will continue in Lubbock, for at least for another week.
The City of Lubbock implemented a Stage-4 Water Restriction into place on Friday, because work crews are moving a major water line due to construction of the Marsha Sharp Freeway.
Following an evaluation of the current situation, the City decided an extension of that watering restriction was necessary.
For now, residents can only water their flowers and gardens by hand. Property owners caught watering their lawn will receive a warning for a first offense and citations after that.
Another review of the watering restriction will take place next Monday.
The relocation of the water main is expected to be complete by the end of the month.
