Kidnapping Charges Still Not Filed in Levelland

Charges have still not been filed against the two teens suspected of kidnapping 3-month-old Saydi Brooklyn Mendez.

The teens appeared before a Hockley County judge Monday afternoon. The judge decided the teens should be detained for ten more days before any decision is made.

Authorities arrested a 15-year-old female and 16-year-old male in the parking lot of the Levelland Wal-Mart last Thursday, an hour and a half after an Amber Alert was issued. The baby was found safe inside a car.
