Two Vehicle Collision Slows Traffic on I-27

Traffic is moving again after a collision on I-27 near 19th Street shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. Initially, traffic was backed up for about a quarter mile.

According to police, the driver of a red pickup had just finished helping another motorist change a tire. And as he pulled back onto the highway, his pickup was struck by a blue SUV, traveling at full speed.

Paramedics took the Hispanic man in the pickup to University Medical Center with moderate injuries. The three females in the SUV refused treatment.
