Tuesday night's storms caused some heavy flooding in West Lubbock. Lubbock Police responded to numerous calls about vehicles that had stalled out in flood waters. There is still some standing water on some roadways especially in construction zones.
Speaking of construction, drivers can expect some changes at the intersection of 34th and Slide. The Marsha Sharp Freeway water main project is causing more delays. Wednesday crews are expected to close down the intersection at 34th and Slide so they can connect additional water lines. Closing off Slide should let workers complete those connections faster, and that should allow the city to let up on the current water restrictions. The intersection is expected to be closed for 4-6 weeks.
