Using the sick excuse to play hooky from school, just got a little tougher for Willow Bend Elementary students.
That's because the Frenship School is one of two schools in Texas to be awarded a $125,000 grant to build its own health clinic.
"These children will be able to receive shots, medications, prescriptions that they can get filled that day without going home," says Steve Burleson, Frenship ISD's Assistant Superintendent.
Frenship ISD will partner with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center to provide health care services for students and their siblings attending Willow Bend and Reese Education Center.
