If you planned on canceling your summer vacation across the border because you haven't received your passport yet, there's no need. Wednesday, the Bush administration delayed its new policy again.
Back in January, a new rule went into effect, saying you needed a passport for travel to Mexico, Canada, and the Caribbean. That has delayed passport processing by months.
So now, all you will need is your birth certificate and valid photo ID to travel by land and sea.
The change is expected to last through next summer, delaying the new passport rules until then.
If you travel by air, you'll need an ID and your passport application.
