A spike in water usage nearly sent the city to its boiling point. Despite our watering restrictions, Lubbock citizens used more than 32.6 million gallons of water Thursday. That is dramatically higher than the 25.8 million used on Wednesday.
If the Lubbock uses 35 million gallons of water in a day, residents will need to boil their drinking water.
Deputy city manager Tom Adams said Thursday that some areas of the city could see the restrictions lifted on Monday. But until then, no watering lawns, no washing cars in your driveway, basically no water runoff of any kind.
If you would like to report someone in violation of this restriction, call 775-3952.
