One Teen Dies And Another Hospitalized After Weekend Rollover

One teen is dead, and another is being treated at a Lubbock hospital after a rollover near Morton, on Sunday night.

DPS troopers say 17-year-old Jessica Nicole Huffman, of Amarillo, was speeding when she lost control of her car, causing it to flip twice. The accident happened on Sunday night, about two miles east of Morton on County Road 84.

Troopers say Huffman and her passenger, 12-year-old Dakota Russell also of Amarillo, were not wearing seatbelts. Both of the girls were thrown from the vehicle.

Russell died at a Lubbock hospital early Monday morning. Huffman was last listed in satisfactory condition.

Another passenger in the car,13-year-old Lesley Dale Blackstock of Morton, was treated and released.
