Lubbock's Water Use Goes Down

As the city begins easing certain water restrictions, Lubbock's water use is actually down. We used 24 million gallons of water Monday, which is the lowest since water restrictions began.

The City of Lubbock also announced they are offering hardship permits to help businesses affected by the water restrictions. But during citizen's comments at Tuesday's Lubbock City Council meeting some Lubbock business owners say this isn't enough. Some even said they have had to lay off one-third of their employees.

City officials say they expect the relocation of the major water line to be complete on Saturday, and that should help everyone.
