Tanisha Ellison had a double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds, and #17 Texas Tech beat Texas A&M 95 - 64 on Tuesday night in Lubbock. Ellison was one of six players in double figures for the Lady Raiders, who matched a season high in points and ended a two-game conference losing streak. It was the 475th career victory for Texas Tech Head Coach Marsha Sharp.
Jolee Ayers also had a double-double for the Lady Raiders scoring 14 points and pulling down 13 boards. Toccara Williams led Texas A&M with 22 points and eight rebounds.
After trailing by as many as 11 early, the Aggies pulled to 24 - 20 midway through the first half thanks in part to solid post play from Kim Moore and Tammika Simms. However, reserve guard Natalie Ritchie scored eight straight points, and Texas Tech went on a 22 - 8 run to close out the first half and put the game out of reach.
The Lady Raiders extended the lead to 29 with about 13 minutes left in the second half, and the Aggies never got closer.
