The local chapter of the Humane Society is asking for the maximum penalty for Tyson Mullins, 22, if he is convicted of animal cruelty.
Mullins is accused of killing his girlfriend's 8-week-old Dachshund puppy at Savannah Oaks Apartments earlier this month. Mullins told police he was angry that the pup had urinated on his pillow.
If convicted, Mullins could face up to one year in jail and a $4000 fine.
