There is good news for local travelers, if you plan on driving for the upcoming 4th of July holiday.

Here in Lubbock, gas prices have been steadily declining with prices now averaging between $2.85 and $2.89 per gallon.

AAA reports gas prices state-wide have dropped for the fifth straight week, with the average price about $2.88.
