Andre Emmett scored 26 points and Andy Ellis had a double-double as Texas Tech defeated the Missouri Tigers 91 - 68 on Wednesday night in Lubbock. The victory pushed the Red Raiders into a three-way tie for third place in the Big XII with Texas and Oklahoma State. The Cowboys beat the Longhorns 85 - 80 in Austin on Tuesday night. The Tigers are now in sixth place.
Tech's win was sparked by a second-half surge led by Kasib Powell and Emmett, who combined for 28 points in the half. Powell ended up with 18 points. Pawel Storoznyski scored a season-high 21, seven more than his previous high of 14. Andy Ellis had 11 points 11 rebounds.
The game was a match up of the Big XII's top two scorers. Coming into the game, Emmett led the Big XII with 22.3 points per game to Kareem Rush's 21.
Rush scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Clarence Gilbert added 18 to lead the Tigers.
