The leader of a cocaine ring is awaiting sentencing. Tuesday, a federal jury found Alex Romo Rios guilty on five drug counts, including possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
Authorities arrested Rios back in April during a drug trafficking sting where several others were also arrested. Testimony showed that Rios delivered 150 kilograms of cocaine in the Lubbock area from September 2005 until September 2006.
Jurors also learned that Rios had ties to drug dealers in Mexico who supplied him with cocaine. Rios faces up to life in prison.
