Several Arrests At Club Dallas Lead To TABC Investigation

Complaints lead to arrests, and now those arrests are causing the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission or TABC to launch an investigation into Club Dallas.

Lubbock Police say over the past month they have received 20 different calls requesting assistance at Club Dallas.

Then around midnight, police received disturbance calls for Club Dallas, which is located at 711 34th Street. NewsChannel 11 Video Journalist John Berry's camera was the only one rolling as police arrested 6 people. Police tell us the arrests ranged from public intoxication, fake-IDs to parole violations.

These arrests in combination with past complaints are now causing TABC to investigate the club.

But Club Dallas Manager Emelio Rocha tells NewsChannel 11 they've been trying to work with authorities and he claims Thursday night's police response was excessive and unwarranted.

"You're going to have complaints. The question is are they taking it over board. We're tax payers, we pay our dues we just want to be treated fairly," Rocha said.

Rocha adds in recent months they've made changes at the club. Coming up tonight on NewsChannel 11 at 10, we will explain how Rocha says those changes are helping security there.
