Taser Lawsuit Dropped - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

The man suing the Lubbock Police Department over a 2006 tasing incident has dropped the lawsuit.

Court documents obtained by NewsChannel 11 indicate Bacilio "Ben" Martinez will not pursue a suit against the city and three police officers, in connection with an April 2006 traffic stop.

Martinez originally claimed he was unlawfully tased, and that officers violated his constitutional rights of search and seizure and used excessive force. There is no mention in the documents as to why he has dropped the lawsuit.
