FDA Approves Dementia Patch

You've heard of a patch to help you quit smoking or keep you from getting pregnant. So, how about a patch to prevent dementia?

Novartis Pharmaceuticals says it's coming now that the FDA has approved the Exelon skin patch to treat dementia in patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease.

The drug is already available in pill form, but studies show some of the gastro-intestinal side effects may be less severe in the patch since it delivers the drug straight into the bloodstream.
