We're told the woman was walking home Tuesday night around 10:00 p.m. She saw the loose dogs and started to run, when she crossed the road, that's when she was suddenly attacked. Witnesses say they saw the women, and heard the dogs barking. The woman started to run and that's when they attacked her, biting her in the leg. Witnesses believe the dogs were pit bull mixes and neighbors in the area say this isn't the first time these dogs have caused trouble.
The woman was taken to University Medical Center with minor injuries. EMS and Lubbock Fire responded to the scene. We contacted animal control Wednesday morning and they say they arrived on scene after it was cleared. The owners still have possession of the dogs but animal control is looking into getting the dogs detained. The Lubbock Police Department says animal control notified them not to respond to the accident. The case is currently under investigation.
